The Gedolei Yisrael archive of Jewish sages
Gedolei Yisrael is an open archive of the sages of Israel, the great scholars of Torah, the rabbis and the tzaddikim of every generation: from the patriarchs, through the Men of the Great Assembly, the Tannaim and Amoraim, the Geonim and Rishonim, and on to the Acharonim and the great figures of our own time.
Each entry brings together the sage's life story, biography, books and teachings, selected quotes, teachers and students, burial place and Yahrzeit date. Everything is arranged by era, linked to related figures and available in Hebrew and English.
The archive is made for anyone who wants to read biographies of rabbis, study the works of the great sages, mark the Yahrzeit of a tzaddik, or plan a visit to a gravesite in Israel or the diaspora. Every entry is shown together with the sources it rests on.
"Remember the days of old, consider the years of many generations; ask your father and he will tell you, your elders and they will say to you"
